Gutter Installation
All of our aluminum gutter systems are installed by specialists who come to your home and custom cut and shape your gutters. All of our gutter stretches are seamless which helps to eliminate the extra maintenance of annual sealing and provides a clean look for the exterior of your home.
Gutters should be up near the top of the home improvement list of maintenance and replacement. If your gutters are old, broken, sagging, clogged, or missing, water will pour off the roof and saturate the ground below. This water can eventually make its way into your basement or foundation creating a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Without properly installed and working gutters, the exterior walls of your home may also become stressed, cracked and damaged.
Gutter Guard Installation
There are a variety of accessories on the market today, such as a gutter guard that helps to keep debris and other matter from clogging the gutters. If you do not wish to be up on the ladder every few weeks checking and cleaning the gutters, these handy products can help cut down on that maintenance time significantly.
Regardless of which guard you choose for your gutters, a properly installed gutter system should protect the exterior of your home and keep your basement dry. Even with a good gutter guard system, minimal maintenance is still required to maximize the life of the gutter system. Gutter guards can take this general maintenance from every couple weeks to every couple of months. Ask your associate about the correct type of gutter guard system to protect your home.
Gutter Cleaning
Although cleaning and maintaining your gutters is usually not at the top of the “things I want to do this weekend” list, it is essential for a healthy home. Left to fend for themselves, ALL gutters will eventually become clogged and heavy, leaving water to spill out everywhere. If not properly maintained, the gutters can even pull free from the home and may eventually fall down from the weight of the debris.
Gutters need to be checked periodically to ensure they’re working properly. We perform the complete cleaning and maintenance check that your gutters require, including:
- Clear all debris and rinse all gutters and downspouts
- Check the slope of the gutter to insure proper drainage
- Run water through the system and check for leaks and problem areas
- Scrape and replace at the seam area that visually may cause a future leak
- Check fastenings for damage and replace as needed
- Repair or replace any damaged spikes
Soffit and Fascia Installation
Proper soffit and fascia installation is vital to the overall health of your home.
Fascia board provides a point of attachment for the gutters of the house, along with the drain pipes, facilitating drainage from the roof and ensuring that water does not pool around the house during the rainy season, which can cause damage to the interior and foundation of your home. If fascia board appears to be rotting away or becomes detached, it should be replaced.
Our expert installers will ensure that the new fascia is properly installed, preventing damage from wind and water to the interior of your home. It is also a very important part of home maintenance to ensure that the soffit on your home is in good condition and properly installed.
With our high quality solid and vented vinyl soffit you can be sure that your home is protected from the elements. Soffit and fascia replacement are relatively inexpensive home improvement repairs, and repairing damaged soffit and fascia can prevent much bigger problems down the road. We carry soffit and fascia for all types of homes in several different styles to fit any budget or preference.
What is Soffit?
Generally speaking, soffit is the underside of any element of a building. The most common soffit is found in the area under the eaves on the exterior of the house. The soffit extends from the side of the house to the edge of the eave and closes the space beneath the eave.
Soffit is very vulnerable to weather damage. Wet material rots, and soffit can be repeatedly soaked by water from torn shingles, damaged or rusted flashing, ice dams, or poorly functioning gutters. Squirrels and birds can also damage soffit, since they like to nest in the space behind the soffit if they can find a point of entry. Bees, hornets, and wasps do not usually damage soffit, but when they are able to build a nest behind soffit, they present a nuisance for homeowners.
What is Fascia?
Fascia extends around the entire perimeter of a structure and is found just beneath the roof line behind the gutters, and protects the underside of the roof. Wood (fascia board) is the most commonly used fascia material for homes, although plastic and aluminum can also be used.
Fascia board is mounted on the exposed ends of rafters or the top of the exterior walls to create a layer between the edge of the roof and the outside. In addition to serving an aesthetic function by creating a smooth, even appearance on the edge of the roof, fascia board also protects the roof and the interior of the house from weather damage.
